As the seasons change...

The seasons surely are changing here in the foothills... with warm days, chilly nights and tinges of color here and there. A visit to the garden shop brought some of the seasonal tones to my cottage doorway. The more colorful landscapes are surely just a few short weeks away as we move deeper into October.

As I celebrated another birthday this week,  I took some time to reflect on the bounty in my life.  I have been blessed beyond measure... with family, two sweet dog-children, and some of the dearest friends on the planet...

The creative yearnings in my heart enrich my life every day... Having the strength and health to return to my little art table is a daily joy, one that I never take for granted.  My interaction with my "like-minded tribe" of friends fills me with inspiration and fulfillment.

The end of summer has prompted me to complete my VELVET DAYS book, from the FULL TILT BOOGIE online class.  Here are a few more renderings, before I place it with my million other handmade journals that make my heart sing. Why do I keep making these books??? Because I have to, it seems.

Plant some pansies... slather some paint... soak in these glorious days...
As Steve Jobs said... "Stay hungry... stay foolish"...

Just popped over from FTB to see your Velvet days pages. Such a treasure you have created! I too have had the "I can't close my book" syndrome. I'm wondering about putting small shims in the signatures. Fell in love with your blog. Looks like the retreat you attended was marvelous and I am so impressed by your creations. Steve Jobs inspired so many people - I am amazed how many people blogged about him. I must say, I did the same. He inspired me no end, and after I heard his Stanfield address in 2005, I realized what he was made of. Anyway, BJ, so enjoyed my time with you and your beautiful work this morning. take care, and enjoy the beautiful fall days as I know you are. :o) Donna ps: I so agree. Let's all 'stay hungry. stay foolish'.

Your velvet days book is awesome! I like how you matched a picture with a meaningful quotation. I, too, celebrated a (milestone) birthday this week; it does give one an opportunity to reflect.

I saw your post to the FTB group and wanted to come see your beautiful journal! Truly lovely, lovely work. I really like the full page pictures, and the balance and composition. And thank you for sharing the pictures and descriptions of WNC too - my soul home.
